JAMI, Järviseutu Vocational Institute, operates in South Ostrobothnia. Our education centres in Kurejoki, Lappajärvi and Vimpeli offer six (6) vocational qualification study programmes.

Important information to applicants:
- All international students needs to be over 18 years old when they start their studies
- All education centres have free dormitory to students who study in the school. Those who study with apprenticeship can not have free dormitory.
- In each dormitory room there is two students living at the same time.
- Students can work part-time job
- The study counselor and school social worker are available to students throughout their studies. Student counselor can also help you after graduation.
- The student can retake the final exams of study modules as many times as necessary. If needed, the student can receive additional instruction from the teacher to help them pass the final exam.
- In addition to teaching, teachers actively participate in guiding students. Teachers are trained to identify learning difficulties. Our institution provides special educators who are available to assist students with their learning challenges.
- There are approximately 5-10 vocational study modules in each qualification. Each vocational study module includes an internship. Internships are always unpaid.
- You can also complete the entire qualification or individual study modules through an apprenticeship when you have good enough finnish language skills. Apprenticeships are always paid. The wages for apprenticeships are determined by the collective labor agreement.
- The vocational skills required for completing the modules are demonstrated by performing practical tasks in authentic situations and work processes (demonstration of knowledge and skills). If you have skills already when arriving to study in our school, you can right away complete modules (receive credits right away) by demonstrating these skills.
- If a student wishes, they can change the degree they are studying. In this case, the student should have a discussion with the study counselor.

Kurejoki Website
The Kurejoki campus is responsible for basic education in agriculture, horticulture, wood industry. The campus is located approximately five (5) kilometers from the center of Alajärvi. The educational farm and the school's garden with its shops contribute to the atmosphere of the unit. The school's horse stable provides free stalls for students' horses. On the farm, you will also encounter, among other things, cows and sheeps. The Kurejoki campus has a student restaurant.

Lappajärvi Website
The Lappajärvi campus is located near the center of Lappajärvi, approximately 40 kilometers from Alajärvi. At the Lappajärvi campus, education is provided for the automotive industry, logistics, construction, electrical and automation technology, and restaurant and catering sectors. There is also a dormitory associated with the Lappajärvi campus.

Vimpeli Website
The Vimpeli campus offers education in machine and production technology. The educational unit operates in a real work environment within the Vimpeli industrial area, surrounded by industry-related businesses. In addition to their own teaching facilities, there is an aluminum processing learning cell available, which is situated in Tikli Group's premises. The Vimpeli campus is 4 kilometers from the center of Vimpeli, 18 kilometers from Alajärvi, and 24 kilometers from Lappajärvi.
Vimpeli High school in part of Finest Future High School program and there is already international students studying in Vimpeli High School.
