Overview
Our high school has 63 years of experience in secondary education. We grant scholarships to students who have graduated from our high school with an emphasis on future medical studies. We offer individual teaching and support to our students and we have a sports-oriented study program.
The Finnish climate is colder than in many other countries.
However, the weather varies significantly in different seasons.
Spring: around 10 to 15 °C

Winter: around -25 to +5 °C
80 km to Seinäjoki - 370 km to Helsinki - 200 km to Tampere - 80 km to Vaasa - 30 km to Kauhajoki (with a connection to the railway station), 20 km to Närpiö.
The connections from Teuva to other municipalities are limited. Two buses run every day at 6.45 am and 2.05 pm to Seinäjoki through Kauhajoki and one bus leaves for Seinäjoki at 9.45 am. In addition, four buses run from Kauhajoki to Teuva several times a day at 1.15 pm, 1.40 pm, 3.45 pm, and 9 pm.
The nearest airports are in Vaasa (80 km) and in Tampere (200 km), from which there are connections to Helsinki.
Prominent services can be found in the downtown area. A healthcare center, a pharmacy, student accommodation, a movie theater, a public pool and a gym, stores, cafeterias, restaurants, and a library are located within a 1.5 km radius of the school.

Study line
Sports-oriented study program.
We have a sports-oriented study program that allows students to do a variety of sports diversely. Those who have chosen the sports-oriented study program can go to the gym and the swimming pool for free. It is possible to complete a total of 11 study units in physical education and a sports diploma at our high school. You can also participate in sports camps at the Olympic Training Center in Kuortane.

When you enter Simon Hovi, you will encounter nine stylish bedrooms, each with its own desk and television. If you want, you can lock your bedroom door, which increases the feeling of privacy and gives you complete peace. Our spacious and bright kitchen is equipped with versatile equipment, so you can prepare delicious meals and enjoy being together with your friends or schoolmates.
Our large living room offers the perfect space for shared moments. In our utility room you will find washing machines, irons and clothes racks so that you can take care of everyday chores. And of course, when we are in Finland, the sauna is free to use. We also offer free WiFi so you can easily stay in touch with your friends and family.
You will feel at home and welcome in Simon Hovi spacious and comfortable environment. Outside, you can relax on the covered terrace and enjoy the park-like yard that surrounds the building. We also offer bicycles for your free use.

The price, if six students come to Simon Hovi, is 450€/month per student. The price includes electricity, water, heating and WIFI.
If there are more, the price will be reduced per student.

Opintola Bed & Breakfast

Opintola B&B operates in a charming old school, which has been
renovated to meet the needs of today. The hotel has a total of 11 rooms
with a total of 25 beds. All rooms have air conditioning, a desk and a
wardrobe. Toilet and shower facilities are shared, except for one double
room with its own toilet and shower. Breakfast is always included in the
price of accommodation, and a sauna session can be booked at the
reception or by message.
Opintola B&B is located surrounded by beautiful nature, and you can go
on excursions on nearby paths and nature trails, either on foot, by
borrowing a bicycle, or by skiing in the winter. You can also borrow
outdoor games and exercise equipment from the Opintola B&B.
You can also organize parties or meetings at the Opintola B&B. Available
are e.g. computer equipment and wireless internet connection. The chef
can prepare delicious meals for your event, or you can also rent a
kitchen where you can prepare the food yourself.
Opintola B&B has been awarded the Ecocompass environmental certificate
on June 30, 2023 as proof of responsible work and sustainable tourism.
The price for one student is 450€/month per student. The price includes breakfast, linen, kitchen, electricity, water, heating and WIFI. If there are more students, the price will be reduced per student.
You can also rent an apartment privately or from the municipality if you wish.

Student counselors, principals, homeroom teachers, and the members of student welfare services follow study progress and meetings are held if necessary.
